Washington D.C. - The Congressional Black Caucus’s (CBC) 45th Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) was held from September 16-20, 2015 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. The founding of the CBCF has stood steadfast on working to fulfill the promise in America of “serving as a trusted and consistent resource and champion in the quest to end racial inequality.” The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) mission is to advance the global black community by developing leaders, informing policy, and educating the public.

Each year, the CBCF undertakes significant public health, economic empowerment, the leadership development programs that benefit thousands of people across the country through the Center for Policy Analysis and Research (CPAR). The CBCF has helped to diversify the ranks of officeholders and staff on Capitol Hill through its Leadership Institute, and provides hundreds of scholarships to deserving students. Also, the CBCF produces district-level forums throughout the country to explore public policy concerns, promote public health and financial empowerment, and to solicit opinions and recommendations of citizens. The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) was founded in 1976, is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, public policy, research, and educational institute that aims to improve the socioeconomic circumstances of African Americans and other underserved communities. CBCF envision a world in which the Black community is free of all disparities and able to contribute fully to advancing the common good.

During the 45th Annual Legislative Conference (ALC), the issues that will be examined are impeding access to our country’s greatest promise, captured through this year’s conference theme, “With Liberty and Justice for All?” ALC’s goal is to identify practical, forward-looking solutions that move us closer toward realizing that promise. Finally, the ALC will strategize around how we can make a positive impact on our communities, celebrate our history, and pay tribute to those who have influenced our culture.

On Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 8:00 p.m., Wendy Williams a modern media legend and host of her popular Emmy nominated The Wendy Williams Show, brought her singular brand of talk, “tea,” and unbridled comedic stylings to America’s stages for an unforgettable night live with uncensored, saying all the things that are in her head….Raw. My girl & talk show diva took a dive on stage at the Hobby Center when trying to meet some of her adoring fans. She as a diva would do shook it off and continued her show. This was a rare opportunity to see another aspect of Wendy’s multi-faceted talents where she lets her hair down, and the audiences could watch her sit, talk and share hilarious true stories that was sure to entertain. She was definitely funny and stands out by having a unique style all her own, and as Pitbull song says, “Let’s Get This Party Started.” I and all of Houston loves you Wendy Williams!
